Acquisition of Egyptian Citizenship for a Foreign Wife Married to an Egyptian National
1- A foreign woman married to an Egyptian national may acquire Egyptian citizenship after two years from the date of submitting the application and declaring her desire to do so, provided that the marital relationship remains intact throughout the two-year period. Both the husband and wife are required to appear at the consulate every six months to complete a declaration confirming the continuation of the marriage, bringing their respective passports with them.
2- The “Application for Acquisition of Egyptian Citizenship” must be submitted by the wife, with the husband present to sign the application.
3. Required Documents:
The original official Egyptian marriage certificate, certified by the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs
The original Egyptian passport of the husband
The original foreign passport of the wife, translated and certified
The wife's birth certificate, translated and certified
The original computerized birth certificate of the husband
The original computerized birth certificate of the husband's father
The original birth certificates of the husband's siblings, along with details of the date, occupation, and addresses of the husband's male siblings
The original computerized birth certificate of the husband's grandfather.
A copy of each of the aforementioned documents
Five (5) personal photos of the wife with a white background (4×6 cm).
Complete the specific form "Application for Acquisition of Egyptian Citizenship" in accordance with Article (7) of Law No. 26 of 1975
